Plongee Koh Tao
Plongee Koh Tao belongs once again to a PADI Course Director. This time it is Patrick Tassin from France who works on Koh Tao in Thailande. #One Internet Marketing is working for Patrick for many years now and you can find some more of his websites here as well. One of them is about Scuba Diving Instructor Training, is called Instructeur Plongée and is also in French. All three sites we are handling for Patrick are doing extremely well. They have top search engine positions and convert well and make money online. Plongeekohtao.com also has a sister site in English which is called Koh Tao Diving.Info.
I am well aware that we could have easily done one website in several languages with WordPress. Although this would have been the faster and the cheaper version, we have decided not to do that and build two sites instead that are exactly lookalike but are individually hosted and carry each their own domain name. This way each page of the website could be directly linked to it’s equivalent in the other language creating valuable back links. If you want to see how well this works type “plongee koh tao” into Google. Having two individual websites also allows for two different domain names as well as parked domains. An ending with the appropriate country code, e.g. .fr, .de is helpful to get better search result positions and they are called “International Domain Names“. With this website as an example in mind, you sure realized by that the French version has a .com domain name, we had our share on difficulties to get a number one position on Google.fr.
The client wanted the .com domain, so we had to make it happen. Although it took 5 month longer to achieve a #one position for Plongee Koh Tao than on Google.com, it eventually got there. We have grown with our clients and are meanwhile well situated in the scuba diving industry and are proud to say that we have great international clients. So, if you need some serious Internet Marketing for your Dive Center, let us know. Simply contact us and we will be happy to make you an offer.
If you simply need a web hosting account and you are the do-it-yourself man, use www.bluehost.com whis is the most reliable and affordable web hosting in 2010. There is more than one reason to use international domain names, not necessarily to host the websites in the country in question. First of all there is the obvious reason that bots and algorithms are trained to categorize domain names together with regional information as well as language information. A domain name ending in .de is likely to be in German language for example. Now there are as well more than one ways for bots to determine the language of a site, though many theme developers and template designers don’t seem to think of them as important and leave them out. Another reason to use international domain names are international, language specific search engines. One more way to make sure the Google Bot understands in what language your website and your websites’ keywords are written in, and that is the way we do it here at #One Internet Marketing, is to go to the Google Webmastertools and declare the regional and language settings of each website in question. By the way; Google loves it when you do this! And besides this, the “Google Webmastertools” are also the place where we store a sitemap of all our clients websites, so that the Google bots can crawl these sites fast and easy and find every page of it to index in the right language!
About Web Hosting Accounts
What is the difference between an own webhosting account or an ecommerce web hosting account and a so called “reseller hosting account”. Obviously there will be less space, less bandwidth, less service and other disadvantages on a reseller web hosting account. Most disturbing though is that companies selling reseller hosting accounts like Hostgator for example, will give the reseller tools, such as their own name servers, to hide that they are actually selling small portions of an account to their clients. In most cases these small web hosting accounts will be enough for their clients, as long as they don’t intend to make for example multilingual versions of their websites, which would, if done the right way, require much larger web space than a reseller account usually provides. It is always a good idea to read the terms of service of a web hosting company before signing up. This avoids unpleasant surprises in web hosting. It all comes down to the fact that just about everybody can become a webhoster today, no special knowledge is required to get into one of the largest money making industries in the world! A retired Granny can do it! Here at One Internet marketing though, all our clients have their very own full webhosting account with all the benefits and the support of a huge web hosting company. We will show our clients where to look and we offer advice, but the decision where the site finally is hosted is always up to our customers.
